Hand, foot and (sadly) mouth

Poor Natey. Turns out he has hand, foot and mouth disease. They should really change the name because that just sounds horrible. When I hear it I think of farm animals. This does explain so much, though, so I'm thankful to have a diagnosis. He has little ulcer looking things on his feet and hands, and when the doctor looked in his mouth he has several in there too. There is no treatment for this since its viral, but we did get some steroid creams to treat his eczema which flared up as a result of this virus. It causes a loss of appetite from the ulcers in the mouth, as well as vomiting in some people, both of which Nate has had. Oh, and general irritability of course.

I also got great information on eczema and how to take care of him on a day to day basis to manage it better. I won't go into detail, but below is a picture of all the medicines/creams/etc. we now have. If you happen to see something you have had good or bad experiences with, please let me know! I am new to this. Just when you think you've got this parenting thing down, something new pops up that you're totally unprepared for! Guess its like the continuous job training other occupations require.

Well that's all the TMI I will expose you to for today. Hopefully soon we will all be back to normal around here, no livestock illnesses to speak of, and I can get back to writing about enjoying our last month abroad.
