Shopping Day

A little bit of background: The other day it was raining (snicker, snicker) and of course I did not come over here prepared for rain. Maybe I was thinking that the summer we spent here would be the one summer it didn't rain. Well that has proven to be untrue. Since we like to get out of the house in the morning rain or shine, I started a 20 minute walk that ended in soaked shoes, socks and feet. So I asked Serg if we could spend Saturday shopping. On the shopping list was a pair of wellies and a compact umbrella. We went to a neat area called Oxford Circus and to a store called Selfridges. The best I can describe it is like a gigantic Neiman Marcus. It was really cool, but really overwhelming as well. But I got me some wellies! I tried to be adventurous and got them in this fun blue color:

We also picked up the umbrella. All over Selfridges were these gigantic shoes. Andrew of course wanted to slide down this particular shoe.

I told him he could if he also posed for this picture.

After this store we stumbled upon the most amazing Disney Store I have been in! Maybe I have just gone to the wrong ones in the past, but this one was just really impressive. I may or may not have declared "This is magical!" to Serg about five times. They had a bunch of Cars 2 toys and we spent over an hour looking around and playing. We picked up a few fun things for people too. :)

This kid just lights up when he hears that its a "train adventure" day. He always has to watch the trains "go bye-bye" into the tunnel and is just mesmerized.

We had planned to make it to the London Bridge after shopping, but before we knew it it was really late. We are finding that things just take longer here. I blame public transportation and potty breaks. London Bridge will just have to wait for another day!

When we got home I asked Serg "where are the bags?" and we both panicked. They didn't make it home with us! He ran back to where he thought he had left them and thankfully they were there, right outside the train station. Whew!
