My parents stayed with us and Mike & Mary stayed at a nearby hotel. Nate was sick for a bit of their visit but we still managed to get some fun outings in. We did the Natural History Museum the first day which had a cool dinosaur exhibit that Andrew loved. We had several nice meals, both at our favorite restaurants around our neighborhood and dinners at home. We went to a few parks of course, Regent's Park and St. Johns Wood. Having my parents at the flat let Serg and I go out with Mike & Mary on several nights after the boys were asleep for coffee, drinks, pastries, etc. It was SO fun to catch up with them and chat into the wee hours (which for us is 11pm).
I can't tell you how amazing it was to have my mom come in and take over the kitchen. Anyone else's mom do this? I didn't have to worry about cooking, dishes or laundry for two weeks. Even when she came down with the same virus Nate had, she still helped out a ton. My dad was so sweet with the boys and I got to enjoy some good time with him too. Andrew, Serg and I loved showing our family what we've been up to here. Seeing family makes me not so sad about coming home in 2.5 months :)
